Add page numbers to a PDF without uploading it
Numbering pages is a small job that should not need an account or an upload. PataPage adds the numbers in your browser, so reports, contracts and manuscripts stay on your device. There is no watermark and no limit.
Choose where the numbers go and how they look
Pick any of six positions: top or bottom, left, center or right. Bottom center is the classic choice for reports, and bottom right suits double-sided printing. Choose a style from plain numbers to “1 / 10” or “Page 1 of 10”, then set the size and color. The preview on the left updates as you change things, so you can see exactly where the number will land.
Number a PDF from a later page or a different number
Many documents have a cover page that should not carry a number. Set Start on page to 2 and the cover stays clean. You can also change the Start at number, for example to continue numbering from a previous part. If your first numbered page is page 2 and you start at 1, that page shows “1”, and the “of” total adjusts to match.
Good to know
The numbers are added on top of each page and do not change anything already there. Pages that are rotated are handled correctly, so numbers appear the right way up. If you plan to combine several files, merge them first with Merge PDF and number the result so the count runs through the whole document. When you are finished, you can send the file straight to Protect PDF or Compress PDF.
