Watermark a PDF without uploading it
Draft contracts, internal reports and designs often need a mark such as DRAFT or CONFIDENTIAL. That is exactly the kind of document you should not upload to a stranger's website. PataPage stamps your watermark in your browser, so the file stays on your device. It is free, with no sign-up and no limit.
Text or image watermarks
For a text watermark, type your words and pick a color. For a logo or a signature stamp, choose a PNG, JPG or WebP image. A PNG with a transparent background looks best. Text in any language works, including accented letters, Cyrillic, Arabic and Chinese.
Control how the watermark looks
Opacity decides how faint the mark is. Around 20 to 30 percent keeps pages readable. Size sets how much of the page width it spans. Choose a diagonal, straight or downward angle, and place a single mark in the middle or repeat it across the whole page. You can mark every page or just some, such as 1-3, 5.
The preview shows the first page, so you can adjust until it looks right before you save.
Good to know
A watermark is a clear label, not a lock. Once it is saved it becomes part of the page, but someone with editing tools may still be able to remove or cover it. To control who can open or change a file, protect it with a password using Protect PDF. Your original is never changed, because you download a new copy. If you also want numbered pages, use Add Page Numbers.
